MODAME

Privacy Policy

1. What we collect

MODAME stores the wardrobe details you choose to provide: item photos and the processed catalogue-style images we generate from them, garment tags (type, colour, fabric, formality and similar attributes), saved outfits, outfit plans, ratings and feedback, favourites, your style preferences and onboarding answers, and basic account details (name, email, profile photo).

We also record lightweight usage signals — such as which outfits you save, rate, skip, plan, or mark as worn — so the app can personalise its suggestions to you over time.

2. How we use your data

We use this information to power your private wardrobe, generate outfit suggestions (both rule-based and AI-assisted), keep saved looks and plans available across sessions, build your evolving MODAME DNA profile, and improve the presentation of your items.

We do not use your wardrobe content to train models for other users, and we do not sell your personal information.

3. Image storage and processing

Item photos are stored in our cloud storage provider (Supabase Storage) under your account. When you add an item, your photo may be sent to third-party AI providers (such as OpenAI and our background-removal provider) solely to identify garment attributes and produce a clean catalogue-style image. These providers process the image to return a result to MODAME; they are not used to publish or share your images elsewhere.

4. AI processing

Outfit scoring, styling reasoning, and your MODAME DNA read are produced using a combination of deterministic product logic and AI Stylist calls (Anthropic Claude). Inputs to these calls are limited to the wardrobe and preference data needed to generate a relevant suggestion. We do not include other users' data in your AI Stylist requests.

5. Where your data is handled

Authentication and database storage are handled through Supabase. Garment analysis and image preparation run through server-side routes using private environment variables; provider keys are never exposed in the browser.

6. Sharing and ownership of your wardrobe data

We do not add public social sharing or messaging inside the app. If you use a share/export feature, you choose where that exported content goes — we do not publish it ourselves. You retain ownership of your wardrobe data; see the Terms of Use for details.

7. Managing and deleting your data

You can update or delete individual wardrobe items, saved outfits, plans, and preferences directly from inside the app at any time. To request export or full deletion of your account and associated data, contact us through your account settings or the app's support channel. We will action these requests within a reasonable timeframe, subject to any legal retention requirements.

8. Account management

You can review and edit your profile, style preferences, and MODAME DNA inputs from the My Style page at any time. Signing out ends your session on that device; deleting your account removes your access and triggers deletion of your stored data per the section above.

This page is a working draft maintained by the MODAME product team and has not yet been reviewed by a lawyer or privacy specialist (including for Australian Privacy Act and, where relevant, GDPR compliance). It should not be treated as a final or binding legal document until that review has taken place.
